Let Ideas Flow
Space for 75
Get everyone together for to recap your event or for relaxation at the end of your day with wine barrel tables and chairs inside and patio furniture outside.
Find your own inspiration just steps away from the Flight of Five Locks – one of the major innovations that made the Erie Canal a success.
The Space is Perfect for:
- Intimate gatherings
- Breakout sessions
- Relaxation after sessions
Originally built in 1840, the building at 12 West Main is the oldest in the complex – and offers the most history as a result. Most notably, 12 West served as a saloon for most of its life (from 1891 until prohibition hit in 1920). When JFG purchased the building in 2003, one of the first things we did was resurrect the pub in the bottom basement (two floors below street level). The Barge Inn is the perfect place for after-session social time, or you can use the space to have informal meetings with up to 25 people.
The Barge Inn also leads directly out to the Canalside Patio, offering space for an additional 50 people. Watch boats “lock through” the canal locks right from the deck, built on the original towpath, or simply enjoy a great view of the canal and Lockport’s “Big Bridge,” still one of the widest bridges in the world. Relax and toss around some fresh ideas on the banks of the canal, and stay in the shade by kicking out the retractable awning on the hottest summer days.
